AN ACT
Amending the act of June 18, 1982 (P.L.549, No.159), entitled
"An act providing for the administration of certain
Commonwealth farmland within the Department of Agriculture,"
further providing for agricultural land conservation
assistance grant program.
The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
hereby enacts as follows:
Section 1. Section 7.3 of the act of June 18, 1982 (P.L.549,
No.159), entitled "An act providing for the administration of
certain Commonwealth farmland within the Department of
Agriculture," is amended by adding a subsection to read:
Section 7.3. Agricultural land conservation assistance grant
program.

(d.1) The department, in consultation with the State b oard,
is hereby authorized to use any of the remaining MAY USE funds
under subsection (a) to issue grants not to exceed $3,000 $5,000
each for succession planning to ensure that agricultural

operations continue on land subject to agricultural conservation
easements. The department may not issue a grant under this
subsection until all other grants are awarded to counties for
the purposes enumerated in this section. The department, in
consultation with the State board, shall establish the
eligibility criteria for awarding grants under this subsection.

Section 2. This act shall take effect in 60 days.
