AN ACT
Amending Title 42 (Judiciary and Judicial Procedure) of the
Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes, in organization and
jurisdiction of courts of common pleas, providing for
information on filling vacancies in elected public office.
The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
hereby enacts as follows:
Section 1. Title 42 of the Pennsylvania Consolidated
Statutes is amended by adding a section to read:
ยง 911.1. Information on filling vacancies in elected public
office.
(a) Access.--When a court of common pleas is filling a
vacancy to elected office under a statutory duty, the court
shall submit to the local agency for which the vacancy is being
filled all of the following information for each candidate as
soon as the court receives the information:
(1) Name.
(2) Application material.
(3) Other material submitted by the candidate.

(b) Right-to-Know Law.--Information under subsection (a)
shall be deemed a public record of the local agency under
section 302 of the act of February 14, 2008 (P.L.6, No.3), known
as the Right-to-Know Law.
(c) Definition.--As used in this section, the term "local
agency" has the meaning given in section 102 of the Right-to-
Know Law.
Section 2. This act shall take effect in 60 days.
