AN ACT
Amending Title 11 (Cities) of the Pennsylvania Consolidated
Statutes, in corporate powers, further providing for
municipal authorities and cooperation with other political
subdivisions.
The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
hereby enacts as follows:
Section 1. Section 12434 of Title 11 of the Pennsylvania
Consolidated Statutes is amended to read:
ยง 12434. Municipal authorities and cooperation with other
political subdivisions.
(a) Municipal authorities.--Council may, by ordinance,
individually or in cooperation with other municipalities or
school districts, form municipal authorities as authorized under
53 Pa.C.S. Ch. 56 (relating to municipal authorities).
(b) Cooperative agreements.--Council may[, by ordinance,]
make cooperative agreements with regard to the performance of a
city's powers, duties and functions in accordance with the
provisions of 53 Pa.C.S. Ch. 23 Subch. A (relating to
intergovernmental cooperation).
