AN ACT
Amending Title 75 (Vehicles) of the Pennsylvania Consolidated
Statutes, in miscellaneous provisions relating to operation
of vehicles, further providing for accident reports by
police.
The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
hereby enacts as follows:
Section 1. Section 3751(b)(1) and (2) of Title 75 of the
Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes are amended and the
subsection is amended by adding a paragraph to read:
ยง 3751. Reports by police.

(b) Furnishing copies of report.--
(1) [Police departments] A police department shall, upon
request, furnish a certified copy of the full report of the
police investigation of any vehicle accident to any person
involved in the accident, [his] the person's attorney or
insurer, and to the Federal Government, branches of the
military service, Commonwealth agencies, and to officials of
political subdivisions and to agencies of other states and

nations and their political subdivisions.
(1.1) If the request is made within 15 days of the
accident, the police department shall furnish an initial
written report of the accident at the same time the report is
delivered to the department under subsection (a). If the
initial report is not complete, a supplemental report shall
be submitted at a later date.
(2) Except as provided in paragraph (3), the cost of
furnishing a copy of a report under this subsection shall not
exceed [$15] $22.

Section 2. This act shall take effect in 60 days.
