A RESOLUTION
Designating the week of March 18 through 24, 2018, as "Maple
Producers Week" in Pennsylvania.
WHEREAS, Maple producers have a significant role in the
economy of this Commonwealth; and
WHEREAS, Pennsylvania produced 139,000 gallons of maple syrup
from 660,000 taps in 2017; and
WHEREAS, Several Pennsylvania maple producer organizations
celebrate and highlight the industry in March by inviting the
public to touring and tasting events; and
WHEREAS, Maple producers deserve recognition for the role
they play in the economy of this Commonwealth; therefore be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate designate the week of March 18
through 24, 2018, as "Maple Producers Week" in Pennsylvania.
