A RESOLUTION
Recognizing the 75th anniversary of the Civil Air Patrol Cadet
Program.
WHEREAS, The Senate takes great pride in recognizing those
organizations which, through adherence to the highest standards
of volunteer service, contribute in a meaningful way toward a
better and more productive society; and
WHEREAS, The Civil Air Patrol (CAP) and Pennsylvania Wing
Civil Air Patrol are celebrating the momentous occasion of the
75th anniversary of the Civil Air Patrol Cadet Program, created
in December 1942; and
WHEREAS, Pennsylvania Wing has pursued the Civil Air Patrol's
Cadet Program mission with excellence in this Commonwealth
throughout the past 75 years and continues to do so today; and
WHEREAS, The proud and incredible heritage of the CAP Cadet
Program is a focus on developing America's youths to become
dynamic Americans, aerospace leaders and citizens of high

character who serve their nation, state, communities and fellow
citizens faithfully; and
WHEREAS, The Pennsylvania Wing Cadet Program includes the key
elements of leadership education, aerospace education, character
development and physical fitness; and
WHEREAS, CAP cadets gain first-hand experience in the
Learning, Leadership, Command and Executive phases of the Cadet
Program, progressively assuming increasing responsibilities for
personal leadership and leadership of others; and
WHEREAS, CAP cadets adhere to their cadet oath, which
concludes with their pledge to "advance my education and
training rapidly to prepare myself to be of service to my
community, state and nation"; and
WHEREAS, CAP cadets, along with their senior member adult
counterparts, train rigorously to attain emergency services
specialty qualifications and stand ready to engage in Civil Air
Patrol search and rescue and disaster relief and humanitarian
missions within this Commonwealth and across this nation; and
WHEREAS, CAP cadets learn and are taught by example to adhere
to the Civil Air Patrol core values of integrity, volunteer
service, excellence and respect; and
WHEREAS, Tens of thousands of young Pennsylvanians have
benefited from the education and experience gained through their
achievements in the CAP Cadet Program and now serve this
Commonwealth and our nation faithfully in all walks of life,
including military service, law enforcement, judicial service,
legislative service, education, industry, health care,
agriculture, transportation, trades and many others; and
WHEREAS, Cadet and senior members of Pennsylvania Wing are
scheduled to celebrate their achievements and communicate plans

for future service on May 10, 2017, "PA Wing Day" at the
Capitol; therefore be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate join with Pennsylvania Wing Civil
Air Patrol as it celebrates the joyous occasion of the 75th
anniversary of the Civil Air Patrol's Cadet Program; and be it
further
RESOLVED, That the Senate extend warmest wishes to the Civil
Air Patrol and Pennsylvania Wing Civil Air Patrol for a future
replete with ever-increasing success in service to this
Commonwealth, its communities and our nation; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this resolution be transmitted to
Pennsylvania Wing Civil Air Patrol Headquarters, Building 3-108
Fort Indiantown Gap, Annville, Pennsylvania 17003.
