AN ACT
Amending Title 18 (Crimes and Offenses) of the Pennsylvania
Consolidated Statutes, in firearms and other dangerous
articles, providing for firearm crime data.
The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
hereby enacts as follows:
Section 1. Title 18 of the Pennsylvania Consolidated
Statutes is amended by adding a section to read:
ยง 6128. Firearm crime data.
(a) Duty of Pennsylvania State Police.--The Pennsylvania
State Police shall provide the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime
and Delinquency with data on crimes committed with firearms on
an ongoing basis.
(b) Publication of data.--The Pennsylvania Commission on
Crime and Delinquency shall enter into a memorandum of
understanding with an educational institution to organize,
analyze and publish the data provided under subsection (a). The
data shall be published on the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime
and Delinquency's publicly accessible Internet website.

(c) Fee.--The Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and
Delinquency shall impose a fee on an individual who commits a
crime that involves a firearm. The amount of the fee shall be
determined by regulation and may not exceed $10 or the amount
necessary to reimburse the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and
Delinquency for the cost of administering this section,
whichever is greater.
(d) Restricted account.--The fee collected under subsection
(c) shall be deposited into a restricted account in the General
Fund and used for the purpose of administering this section.
Section 2. This act shall take effect in 60 days.
