AN ACT
Amending the act of December 22, 2011 (P.L.586, No.127),
entitled "An act providing for gas and hazardous liquids
pipelines and for powers and duties of the Pennsylvania
Public Utility Commission; and imposing civil penalties,"
making an editorial change and providing for duties of the
Department of Environmental Protection and of pipeline
operators.
The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
hereby enacts as follows:
Section 1. The title of the act of December 22, 2011
(P.L.586, No.127), known as the Gas and Hazardous Liquids
Pipelines Act, is amended to read:
AN ACT
Providing for gas and hazardous liquids pipelines and for powers
and duties of the Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission;
providing for duties of the Department of Environmental
Protection and of pipeline operators; and imposing civil
penalties.
Section 2. The act is amended by adding a chapter to read:

DUTIES
Section 201. Definitions.
The following words and phrases when used in this chapter
shall have the meanings given to them in this section unless the
context clearly indicates otherwise:
"Entity." Each of the following:
(1) The Department of Environmental Protection of the
Commonwealth.
(2) A pipeline operator.
Section 202. Notification.
An entity shall provide notification to each resident,
municipality and other applicable party affected by the drilling
of a pipeline at least five days prior to the initiation of a
project.
Section 3. This act shall take effect in 60 days.
