AN ACT
Amending Title 61 (Prisons and Parole) of the Pennsylvania
Consolidated Statutes, in preliminary provisions, further
providing for definitions; and, in general administration
relating to correctional institutions, providing for salary
of corrections managers.
The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
hereby enacts as follows:
Section 1. Section 102 of Title 61 of the Pennsylvania
Consolidated Statutes is amended by adding a definition to read:
§ 102. Definitions.
The following words and phrases when used in this title shall
have the meanings given to them in this section unless the
context clearly indicates otherwise:

"Corrections manager." A corrections superintendent 1, 2 or
3, deputy superintendent 1, 2 or 3, corrections officer 3, 4 or
5, unit manager, facility maintenance manager 1, 2 or 3, food
service manager 1 or 2, inmate personal services manager,
classification and treatment manager, classification program

manager, correctional industries manager 1 or 2, utilities
supervisor, motor freight coordinator and any other
classification that may be added to the corrections manager's
pay scale and supervises or administers security and custodial
activities at the institutional or agency level.

Section 2. Title 61 is amended by adding a section to read:
§ 1101.1. Salary of corrections managers.
A corrections manager shall receive not less than the same
annual percentage salary and fringe benefit increase as received
by the highest ranking corrections officer participating in
collective bargaining.
Section 3. This act shall take effect in 60 days.
