A RESOLUTION
Honoring the life and achievements of Raymond D. Smith in
Pennsylvania.
WHEREAS, On September 5, 2018, Raymond Smith passed away at
59 years of age in Harrisburg; and
WHEREAS, Born October 21, 1958, and raised in Streator,
Illinois, Mr. Smith was the son of John and Dorothy (Fetsko)
Smith; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Smith graduated from St. Stephen's Grade School
in the class of 1972 and Streator High School in the class of
1976; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Smith was awarded an associate's degree from
Lakeland College in Mattoon, Illinois; and
WHEREAS, After college, Mr. Smith worked in various roles in
broadcasting in Charleston, Illinois, Mendota, Illinois, and
Salem, Illinois; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Smith worked from 1986 until 1997 for Galesburg
Broadcasting Company in Galesburg, Illinois; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Smith began as a morning news anchor and then
cohosted the "Raymond and Raymond Morning Show"; and
WHEREAS, An avid Chicago sports fan, Mr. Smith did play-by-
play and enterprise sports reporting; and
WHEREAS, In 1998, Mr. Smith relocated to Harrisburg to work
for RadioPA Network and WITF; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Smith loved old-time sitcoms and artists; and
WHEREAS, At the time of his death, Mr. Smith was working as a
communications coordinator for the House of Representatives; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Smith was of the Catholic faith and a 4th Degree
Knights of Columbus member; therefore be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives honor the life of
Raymond D. Smith and extend condolences to his family and
friends; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this resolution be transmitted to
the family of Raymond D. Smith.
