A RESOLUTION
Recognizing the 60th Annual Convention of the Pennsylvania State
Tax Collectors' Association and recognizing the month of
October 2018 as "Elected Tax Collectors Month" in
Pennsylvania.
WHEREAS, One of Pennsylvania's strengths as a Commonwealth is
the faith the community has in responsive government at the
local level; and
WHEREAS, Pennsylvania's elected tax collectors have
represented that vision of government closest to the people
since the earliest days of the republic; and
WHEREAS, Due to the personal attention given one-on-one to
citizens in understanding the local taxation system, tax
collectors serve an important role in the communities that elect
them; and
WHEREAS, Many people being helped by elected tax collectors
are senior citizens or individuals with limited income who are
not aware of possible reductions in local taxes for which they
