A RESOLUTION
Designating May 1, 2018, as "Law Day" in Pennsylvania and urging
lawmakers, attorneys, judges and schools to participate in
this year's celebration.
WHEREAS, The Pennsylvania Bar Association is launching its
18th annual "Law Day" program on May 1, 2018; and
WHEREAS, As part of the celebration, the Pennsylvania Bar
Association and local bar associations across this Commonwealth
are sponsoring activities throughout the month of May; and
WHEREAS, The theme for 2018 is "Separation of Powers:
Framework for Freedom"; and
WHEREAS, The celebration is coordinated by the Law-Related
Education Committee of the Pennsylvania Bar Association and
funded by the Pennsylvania Bar Foundation; and
WHEREAS, Schools, attorneys and judges are encouraged to work
together to arrange for classroom visits as part of the
celebration; and
WHEREAS, The primary purpose of the celebration is to teach

children about their legal rights and responsibilities and to
share with them the essence of being an American citizen; and
WHEREAS, Students of all ages, from kindergarten through
college, will have the opportunity to explore the ways in which
they can have an impact on our world; therefore be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives designate May 1,
2018, as "Law Day" in Pennsylvania and urge all lawmakers,
attorneys, judges and schools to participate in this year's
celebration.
