A RESOLUTION
Commemorating the 75th anniversary of the National Federation of
Independent Business on May 20, 2018.
WHEREAS, The National Federation of Independent Business
(NFIB), the leading small business association in the United
States, is celebrating 75 years as the voice of small business
across the United States; and
WHEREAS, NFIB is the voice for 15,000 small businesses in
this Commonwealth and 325,000 small businesses across the United
States; and
WHEREAS, The vision of NFIB is to give small and independent
businesses a voice in governmental decision making through
policy advocacy; and
WHEREAS, The positions of NFIB exclusively originate from the
democratic polling of its grassroots membership and reflect the

actual interests of small business owners; and
WHEREAS, As a result, the positions of NFIB lead to the
growth of small businesses and job creation; and
WHEREAS, NFIB has been honored by United States presidents,
members of Congress, governors and other elected officials for
bringing an understanding of the critical issues facing small
business owners to policy makers; and
WHEREAS, NFIB offers millions of dollars in scholarships
through its Young Entrepreneur Foundation; and
WHEREAS, NFIB also offers low-cost business services,
represents small business interests in the courts and gathers
data on small business trends; and
WHEREAS, For 75 years, NFIB has relentlessly worked to
advocate that small businesses are the engines of job growth,
the lifeblood of American entrepreneurship and essential to the
creation of a better standard of living for all; therefore be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives commemorate the
75th anniversary of the National Federation of Independent
Business on May 20, 2018, and honor the association for its
contributions to small businesses throughout this Commonwealth.
