A RESOLUTION
Honoring the 107th anniversary of President Ronald Wilson
Reagan's birth on February 6, 2018.
WHEREAS, February 6, 2018, will be the 107th anniversary of
Ronald Wilson Reagan's birth, 14 years after his death at 93
years of age on June 5, 2004; and
WHEREAS, Ronald Wilson Reagan was sworn in as the 40th
President of the United States on January 20, 1981; and
WHEREAS, President Reagan led a remarkably productive life,
including military service before and during World War II, work
as a stage and movie actor, union leader and television and
event spokesman, and public service as a popular two-term
Governor of California; and
WHEREAS, President Reagan is considered one of the most
influential presidents of the 20th century; and

WHEREAS, President Reagan is remembered for his great
connection to Americans, for restoring confidence and optimism
in the American people and for his highly successful diplomatic
efforts to end the Cold War; and
WHEREAS, During President Reagan's presidency, he worked in a
bipartisan manner to enact his agenda of restoring
accountability and common sense to government which led to an
economic expansion and opportunity for millions of Americans;
and
WHEREAS, President Reagan's commitment to our armed forces
contributed to the restoration of pride in America and its
values cherished by the free world and prepared the United
States Armed Forces to meet the challenges of the 21st century;
and
WHEREAS, Through his grace, charm, wit and indomitable
optimism, President Reagan conveyed the strength of character
and greatness of America; therefore be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives honor the 107th
anniversary of President Ronald Wilson Reagan's birth on
February 6, 2018.
