A RESOLUTION
Recognizing the month of April 2017 as "Alcohol Awareness Month"
in Pennsylvania.
WHEREAS, Responsible consumption of alcohol by adults 21
years of age or older and a zero-tolerance stance for alcohol
use by underage youths is vital to maintaining a healthy and
responsible citizenry; and
WHEREAS, Alcohol use by young people is dangerous due to the
risks associated with acute impairment and the threat to long-
term development and well-being; and
WHEREAS, It is illegal to serve alcohol to a minor or a
visibly intoxicated patron at any retail operation or
establishment licensed to sell alcoholic beverages; and
WHEREAS, Anyone found guilty of providing alcohol to minors
or to visibly intoxicated patrons faces various penalties,
including an immediate suspension or revocation of the liquor
license or a fine of no less than $1,000 and no more than
