A RESOLUTION
Designating January 19, 2017, as "Frontier Girls Day" in
Pennsylvania.
WHEREAS, Frontier Girls was founded on January 19, 2007, to
provide a program to enrich the lives of girls; and
WHEREAS, The mission of Frontier Girls is to raise women of
honor to be the leaders and mothers of the future through life
skills, leadership, character building, teamwork and service to
others; and
WHEREAS, Frontier Girls celebrates the American spirit that
makes us great, including a strong faith in God, strong family
values and the acceptance of those who are different than
ourselves; and
WHEREAS, Frontier Girls seeks to restore a focus on good
moral character, patriotism, community service and a love of
learning that is being lost in a culture of instant
gratification and irresponsibility; and
WHEREAS, Participants in Frontier Girls earn character badges

that address everything from joy and honesty to responsibility
and modesty. These badges encourage girls to put these traits to
use in their own lives, helping them to be well-mannered, self-
directed, respectful, disciplined and honorable citizens; and
WHEREAS, Frontier Girls has 15 troops throughout this
Commonwealth along with a pioneer group of independently
operating girls who are not assigned to a troop; therefore be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives designate January
19, 2017, as "Frontier Girls Day" in Pennsylvania and recognize
the work of Frontier Girls to promote leadership, character
building, teamwork and service to others.
