AN ACT
Amending the act of March 10, 1949 (P.L.30, No.14), entitled "An
act relating to the public school system, including certain
provisions applicable as well to private and parochial
schools; amending, revising, consolidating and changing the
laws relating thereto," in grounds and buildings, providing
for display of preamble of the Constitution of Pennsylvania.
The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
hereby enacts as follows:
Section 1. The act of March 10, 1949 (P.L.30, No.14), known
as the Public School Code of 1949, is amended by adding a
section to read:
Section 771.1. Display of Preamble of the Constitution of
Pennsylvania.--(a) The governing body of a school entity shall
prominently display the preamble of the Constitution of
Pennsylvania in each school building which receives public
funds.
(b) The display required under subsection (a) shall be in
the form of a mounted plaque or similar display and may include
artwork as a result of a student contest.
(c) As used in this section, the term "school entity" shall

mean a school district, joint school district, area vocational-
technical school, intermediate unit, charter school, regional
charter school, cyber charter school or accredited institution
of higher education located in this Commonwealth.
Section 2. This act shall take effect in 90 days.
