AN ACT
Amending the act of March 10, 1949 (P.L.30, No.14), entitled "An
act relating to the public school system, including certain
provisions applicable as well to private and parochial
schools; amending, revising, consolidating and changing the
laws relating thereto," in certification of teachers, further
providing for continuing professional development and for
program of continuing professional education.
The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
hereby enacts as follows:
Section 1. Sections 1205.1 and 1205.2 of the act of March
10, 1949 (P.L.30, No.14), known as the Public School Code of
1949, are amended by adding subsections to read:
Section 1205.1. Continuing Professional Development.--* * *
(c.5) A professional education plan shall include a program
to be completed annually by all professional educators and other
employes of the school entity that is a minimum of three (3)
hours in length and provides training in bullying awareness,
prevention and intervention, including training related to the
school entity's bullying policy required under section 1303.1-A.
For purposes of this subsection, "bullying" shall have the

meaning set forth in section 1303.1-A.

Section 1205.2. Program of Continuing Professional
Education.--* * *
(c.1) To comply with subsection (a), each professional
educator employed by a school entity shall complete annually the
training in bullying awareness, prevention and intervention
required under section 1205.1(c.5). The professional educator's
continuing education record shall be credited annually for
completion of the training required under this subsection.

Section 2. This act shall take effect in 60 days.
