AN ACT
Amending Title 75 (Vehicles) of the Pennsylvania Consolidated
Statutes, in registration of vehicles, providing for special
plates for children with autism.
The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
hereby enacts as follows:
Section 1. Title 75 of the Pennsylvania Consolidated
Statutes is amended by adding a section to read:
ยง 1347.1. Special plates for children with autism.
(a) Issuance.--On the application of a parent or guardian of
a child with autism and accompanied by the appropriate fee, the
department shall issue to the parent or guardian a special
"Child with Autism" registration plate, which plate shall have
the same effect as a regular registration plate.
(b) Return of plates.--A plate issued under this section
shall become void 30 days after the child with autism, for whom
the plate was issued, reaches 18 years of age, and the parent or
guardian shall return the plate to the department.
Section 2. This act shall take effect in 60 days.
