A RESOLUTION
Condemning the recent acts of intolerance and hatred by Lincoln
University Professor Kaukab Siddique and condemning similar
expressions of intolerance and discrimination.
WHEREAS, Lincoln University was founded in 1854 as the
nation's first degree-granting historically black college and
university; and
WHEREAS, Lincoln University maintains a core value of
fostering understanding and mutual respect for the contributions
and perspectives of its diverse student body, faculty, staff,
alumni, surrounding community and global community; and
WHEREAS, Lincoln University receives a multimillion dollar
appropriation from the Commonwealth as a State-related
institution; and
WHEREAS, Professor Kaukab Siddique is a tenured faculty
member employed by Lincoln University who has and continues to
engage in a campaign to devalue the lives of persecuted
individuals by disseminating sexist, homophobic and racial slurs
on social media platforms; and

WHEREAS, Professor Siddique has brought the legacy of Lincoln
University into disrepute by callously making statements with a
brazen disregard for the truth; and
WHEREAS, Professor Siddique has denied that the Holocaust
occurred and has promoted anti-Semitism; and
WHEREAS, Professor Siddique has attempted to discount
multiple reports of the atrocities committed by terrorists of
the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS); and
WHEREAS, Professor Siddique has used derogatory and
misogynistic names to describe women in the wake of public
sexual abuse allegations; and
WHEREAS, Professor Siddique has most recently sought to
promote the worst mass shooting in American history as a victory
for ISIS; and
WHEREAS, Lincoln University's Professional Standards for
Faculty state that tenure is granted to distinguished scholars,
an honor which guarantees yearly contract renewal "unless she or
he fails to fulfill professional and contractual obligations or
for reasons of professional incompetence, moral turpitude, or
financial exigencies facing the University"; and
WHEREAS, Professor Siddique's actions manifest a violation of
objective standards of justice, honesty and good morals; and
WHEREAS, The Senate vigorously embraces all humanity and
emphatically rejects expressions, actions or practices of
intolerance, hatred and discrimination; and
WHEREAS, The Senate must speak out against acts of
discrimination, exclusion or restriction on the basis of race,
religion, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation or socioeconomic
condition; therefore be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate condemn the recent acts of

intolerance and hatred by Lincoln University Professor Kaukab
Siddique and condemn similar expressions of intolerance and
discrimination; and be it further
RESOLVED, That the Senate call upon Lincoln University to
revoke Professor Kaukab Siddique's tenure under its Professional
Standards for Faculty.
