AN ACT
Amending Title 23 (Domestic Relations) of the Pennsylvania
Consolidated Statutes, in child protective services, further
providing for persons required to report suspected child
abuse.
The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
hereby enacts as follows:
Section 1. Section 6311(a) of Title 23 of the Pennsylvania
Consolidated Statutes is amended by adding a paragraph to read:
ยง 6311. Persons required to report suspected child abuse.
(a) Mandated reporters.--The following adults shall make a
report of suspected child abuse, subject to subsection (b), if
the person has reasonable cause to suspect that a child is a
victim of child abuse:

(16) A person who repairs, installs or otherwise
services any computer, including, but not limited to, any
component part, device, memory storage or recording
mechanism, auxiliary storage, recording or memory capacity or

any other materials relating to the operation and maintenance
of a computer or computer network or system, for
compensation, who has knowledge of or observes, within the
scope of the person's professional capacity or employment,
any image, video or computer graphic that is intentionally
saved, transmitted or organized on hardware or any other
media, including, but not limited to, hard drives, DVDs and
flash drives, and whether directly viewable, compressed or
encoded, depicting a child 17 years of age or younger or a
person who reasonably appears to be a child 17 years of age
or younger engaged in an act of sexually explicit conduct.
Section 2. This act shall take effect in 60 days.
