AN ACT
Amending the act of March 10, 1949 (P.L.30, No.14), entitled "An
act relating to the public school system, including certain
provisions applicable as well to private and parochial
schools; amending, revising, consolidating and changing the
laws relating thereto," in reimbursements by Commonwealth and
between school districts, providing for growth supplement for
2015-2016 school year; and making an appropriation.
The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
hereby enacts as follows:
Section 1. The act of March 10, 1949 (P.L.30, No.14), known
as the Public School Code of 1949, is amended by adding a
section to read:
Section 2502.53. Growth Supplement for 2015-2016 School
Year.--(a) For the 2015-2016 school year, a growth supplement
shall be paid to qualifying school districts as follows:
(1) To qualify for the growth supplement, a school
district's 2013-2014 average daily membership must be greater
than its 2005-2006 average daily membership by three hundred
fifty (350) average daily members.
(2) The growth supplement shall be calculated for qualifying

school districts as follows:
(i) Subtract the school district's 2005-2006 average daily
membership from its 2013-2014 average daily membership.
(ii) Multiply the difference from clause (i) by twenty
million dollars ($20,000,000).
(iii) Divide the product from clause (ii) by the sum of the
differences from clause (i) for all qualifying school districts.
(b) Payments to qualifying school districts shall be made no
later than September 15, 2015.
Section 2. The sum of $20,000,000 is hereby appropriated to
the Department of Education for the purpose of the growth
supplement for the 2015-2016 school year provided by section
2502.53 of the act.
Section 3. This act shall take effect July 1, 2015, or
immediately, whichever is later.
