AN ACT
Amending Title 4 (Amusements) of the Pennsylvania Consolidated
Statutes, in revenues, further providing for transfers from
State Gaming Fund.
The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
hereby enacts as follows:
Section 1. Section 1408(c) of Title 4 of the Pennsylvania
Consolidated Statutes is amended to read:
§ 1408. Transfers from State Gaming Fund.

(c) Local law enforcement grants.--The following apply:
(1) Annually, the sum of $2,000,000 shall be transferred
to the board for the purpose of issuing grants to local law
enforcement agencies to investigate violations of and enforce
laws relating to unlawful gambling in this Commonwealth. For
purposes of this subsection, the term "local law enforcement
agency" shall include the Pennsylvania State Police when
conducting unlawful gambling enforcement and prevention
activities in a municipality which does not have a municipal

police department and in which the Pennsylvania State Police
provide the municipality with primary police coverage.
(2) From the amount transferred under paragraph (1), the
sum of $250,000 shall be transferred annually from the board
to the Attorney General. The annual transfer is for the
purpose of issuing grants to district attorney offices to
investigate and prosecute violations of and enforce laws
relating to illegal gambling involving animal fighting
prohibited under 18 Pa.C.S. § 5511 (relating to cruelty to
animals). The Attorney General shall publish guidelines in
the Pennsylvania Bulletin providing for application and award
of grants under this paragraph within 60 days of the
effective date of this paragraph. The initial transfer under
this paragraph shall occur on July 1, 2015, and subsequent
transfers shall occur each July 1 thereafter. The grants
under this paragraph must be available in the 2014-2015
fiscal year and each fiscal year thereafter.

Section 2. This act shall take effect in 60 days.
