AN ACT
Making an appropriation to the Department of Education to
promote activities and services to increase the preparation,
enrollment and success of low-income students in
postsecondary education.
The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
hereby enacts as follows:
Section 1. Legislative intent.
The General Assembly finds and declares as follows:
(1) It is the intent of the General Assembly to continue
to promote activities and services to increase the
preparation, enrollment and success of low-income students in
postsecondary education.
(2) This act provides funding to continue activities in
this Commonwealth previously carried out under the federally
funded College Access Challenge Grant Program by supporting
these activities and services with State funds.
Section 2. Appropriation.
The sum of $4,200,000, or as much thereof as may be
necessary, is hereby appropriated to the Department of Education

for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2015, to promote
activities and services to increase the preparation, enrollment
and success of low-income students in postsecondary education.
Section 3. Effective date.
This act shall take effect immediately.
