A RESOLUTION
Recognizing the significant contributions of Alpha Phi Omega, a
national service organization, and further recognizing its
Biennial National Convention being held December 27 through
30, 2016, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
WHEREAS, Alpha Phi Omega (APO), founded in 1925 at Lafayette
College, in Easton, Pennsylvania, is a national coeducational
service organization that develops leadership, promotes
friendship and provides service at colleges and universities
throughout the United States; and
WHEREAS, APO has grown from a single chapter at Lafayette
College to more than 360 active chapters in the United States
and Canada and affiliate APO organizations in Australia and the
Philippines; and
WHEREAS, Founded in keeping with the ideals of scouting as an
organization for men only, APO became coeducational in 1976, and
now includes more than 400,000 men and women alumni; and
WHEREAS, APO has more than 28,000 active brothers conducting
