A RESOLUTION
Commemorating the 100th anniversary of the Pennsylvania Chamber
of Business and Industry.
WHEREAS, The Pennsylvania Chamber of Business and Industry
will be celebrating its centennial anniversary throughout 2016,
and December 16, 2016, will mark its actual 100th anniversary;
and
WHEREAS, In 100 years, the Pennsylvania Chamber of Business
and Industry has grown from a membership of 100 influential
business leaders at its inception to more than 8,000 members
today, which comprises nearly 50% of the private work force in
this Commonwealth; and
WHEREAS, The Pennsylvania Chamber of Business and Industry is

one of only five state chambers to be "accredited with
distinction" by the United States Chamber of Commerce; and
WHEREAS, The Pennsylvania Chamber of Business and Industry
strives to stand by its mission as the "Statewide Voice of
Business" while continuing to build a better Pennsylvania
through pro-growth, pro-jobs and pro-business policies; and
WHEREAS, The Pennsylvania Chamber of Business and Industry
will hold several events throughout this Commonwealth as part of
a year-long celebration that will include: In the Footsteps of
Leaders, a leadership training program to be held in Gettysburg
on May 11 and 12, 2016; a workforce summit featuring Mike Rowe
on May 18, 2016; and the 32nd Annual Chamber Dinner on September
26, 2016; and
WHEREAS, A new logo and branding identity, "A New Century. A
New Look," was unveiled to coincide with the landmark
anniversary and better capture the growth of business and
industry the Chamber has fostered; and
WHEREAS, Looking ahead to the next 100 years, the
Pennsylvania Chamber of Business and Industry plans to build on
its past successes to make this Commonwealth an even better
place to work and live; therefore be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives commemorate the
100th anniversary of the Pennsylvania Chamber of Business and
Industry.
