A RESOLUTION
Honoring the Imhotep Institute Charter High School Football Team
on capturing the 2015 Class AAA State Football Championship
and becoming the first Philadelphia public league school to
win a State football championship.
WHEREAS, The Imhotep Institute Charter High School Football
Team won the Class AAA State Football Championship on December
18, 2015, defeating Erie's Cathedral Prep 40-3; and
WHEREAS, The Imhotep Panthers set a Class AAA title game
record with 514 yards of total offense; and
WHEREAS, Imhotep's rushing total of 383 yards is a Class AAA
championship game record; and
WHEREAS, Winning the Class AAA State Championship is the
pinnacle of a perfect season for the Imhotep Panthers, as the
team concluded with an undefeated 15-0 record, including a
perfect 11-0 regular season; and
WHEREAS, The team's dominant regular season performance,

where they outscored opponents 524-44, extended into the
playoffs, where the Panthers outscored their four PIAA
postseason opponents by a combined score of 178-60; and
WHEREAS, With their Class AAA State Championship victory, the
Imhotep Panthers became the first ever Philadelphia public
league school to win a State football title; and
WHEREAS, Imhotep finished the season ranked 10th in the
nation according to the USA Today Super 25 Expert Rankings; and
WHEREAS, Imhotep Institute Charter School, an African-
centered science, mathematics and technology-based twilight high
school, opened in 1998 and its mission is to provide an
instructional program for high school students that focuses on
high academic standards and character development with a vision
to have graduates become successful, lifelong learners and
valuable members of the world community; therefore be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives honor the Imhotep
Institute Charter High School Football Team on capturing the
2015 Class AAA State Football Championship and becoming the
first Philadelphia public league school to win a State football
championship; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this resolution be transmitted to
Imhotep Institute Charter High School, 6201 N. 21st Street,
Philadelphia, PA 19138.
