A RESOLUTION
Designating May 2 through 8, 2016, as "Days of Remembrance of
the Victims of the Holocaust" and May 5, 2016, as "Holocaust
Remembrance Day" in Pennsylvania.
WHEREAS, The Holocaust was the state-sponsored, systematic
persecution and annihilation of the European Jewry by Nazi
Germany and its collaborators between 1933 and 1945, during
which time 6 million Jews were murdered; and
WHEREAS, Roma (Gypsies), persons with disabilities and Poles
were also targeted for destruction or decimation for racial,
ethnic or national reasons; and
WHEREAS, Millions more persons, including gay men and women,
Jehovah's Witnesses, Soviet prisoners of war and political
dissidents, suffered grievous oppression and death under Nazi
