A RESOLUTION
Designating the month of April 2016 as "Sjogren's Syndrome
Awareness Month" in Pennsylvania.
WHEREAS, Sjogren's syndrome is a chronic autoimmune disease
in which a person's white blood cells attack the person's
moisture-producing glands; and
WHEREAS, As many as 4 million Americans are living with
Sjogren's syndrome; and
WHEREAS, Being a systemic disease, Sjogren's syndrome can
affect all aspects of a person's life; and
WHEREAS, Although its hallmark symptoms are dry eyes and dry
mouth, Sjogren's syndrome also causes serious complications
throughout the entire body; and
WHEREAS, Millions of people are afflicted with Sjogren's
syndrome; therefore be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives designate the

Pennsylvania; and be it further
RESOLVED, That all Pennsylvanians be encouraged to learn more
about Sjogren's syndrome.
