A RESOLUTION
Congratulating the United States Marine Corps Reserve Toys for
Tots Program and the Marine Toys for Tots Foundation on their
continued efforts to provide a message of hope to less
fortunate children and commending all those who volunteer
their time to contribute to this goal.
WHEREAS, Founded in 1947 by Major Bill Hendricks, United
States Marine Corps Reserve (USMCR), and adopted by the United
States Marine Corps (USMC) in 1948, the Toys for Tots Program
has been the recipient of numerous awards, including a 4-star
rating by Charity Navigator, and inclusion in Forbes' "Gold
Star" list of charities and various other accolades; and
WHEREAS, The USMCR Toys for Tots Program is directed by the
USMCR Commander from the USMCR Headquarters in New Orleans,
Louisiana; and
