A RESOLUTION
Honoring Jose Molina, Executive Director of the Governor's
Advisory Commission on Latino Affairs, for his extraordinary
accomplishments and contributions to the Commonwealth in
observance of "Hispanic Heritage Month" in Pennsylvania.
WHEREAS, Jose Molina was born and raised in Puerto Rico and
migrated to the City of Philadelphia in 1989; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Molina graduated from Kutztown University with a
bachelor of science degree in business administration and a
master of business administration degree in human resources
management and services; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Molina began his exemplary public service career
with the Department of Human Services of the Commonwealth; and
WHEREAS, After 10 years with the Department of Human
Services, Mr. Molina worked at Kutztown University for 14 years,
most recently as the Director for Community Engagement and
Government Affairs; and
WHEREAS, In this position, Mr. Molina was involved with

various Latino organizations, including Berks and Lehigh Latino
Chambers of Commerce and dozens of community organizations,
school districts and charter schools; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Molina has been active in the Latino community
for 20 years, most notably as the chair of the Northeast Region
for the Pennsylvania Statewide Latino Coalition, president of
the Latino Leadership Alliance of the Lehigh Valley, president
and vice president of the Kutztown University Latino Caucus,
board member of the Hispanic American Organization and the
Allentown Puerto Rican Parade; and
WHEREAS, In recognition of his public and community service,
Mr. Molina has received numerous distinctions and honors,
including appointment as the Latino Outreach Coordinator for the
House of Representatives in 2007 and selection as the 2008
Latino of the Year by the Allentown branch of the Puerto Rican
Cultural Alliance and the 2014 Bert Daday Community Service
Award recipient by the Hispanic American Organization; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Molina was appointed to former Governor Tom
Corbett's transition committees for the Department of Human
Services and the Department of Community and Economic
Development; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Molina was involved with President Barack
Obama's efforts to establish an Advisory Commission on
Educational Excellence for Hispanics; and
WHEREAS, In March 2015, Governor Tom Wolf appointed Mr.
Molina as the Executive Director of the Governor's Advisory
Commission on Latino Affairs, the Commonwealth's advocacy agency
for Latinos as reestablished by the Governor on August 4, 2015;
and
WHEREAS, The month of September 15 through October 15 is

annually observed as "Hispanic Heritage Month" in this
Commonwealth; therefore be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives honor Jose Molina
for his extraordinary accomplishments and contributions to the
Commonwealth in observance of "Hispanic Heritage Month" in
Pennsylvania.
