A RESOLUTION
Recognizing the month of September 2015 as "Children's
Cardiomyopathy Awareness Month" in Pennsylvania.
WHEREAS, The Children's Cardiomyopathy Foundation is a
national, nonprofit organization focused on pediatric
cardiomyopathy, a chronic disease of the heart muscle. The
foundation is dedicated to accelerating the search for cures
while improving diagnosis, treatment and quality of life for
children affected by cardiomyopathy; and
WHEREAS, The Children's Cardiomyopathy Foundation actively
works with Federal agencies, medical societies, voluntary health
organizations and hospitals nationwide to increase awareness,
accelerate research and advance education in pediatric
cardiomyopathy; and
WHEREAS, The month of September is being designated to raise

awareness of pediatric cardiomyopathy, the number one cause of
sudden cardiac arrest and heart transplants in children;
therefore be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives recognize the
month of September 2015 as "Children's Cardiomyopathy Awareness
Month" in Pennsylvania.
