A RESOLUTION
Honoring Moore Township, Northampton County, on its 250th
anniversary.
WHEREAS, The House of Representatives proudly notes the 1765
incorporation of Moore Township; and
WHEREAS, The township was named for John Moore, a member of
the Pennsylvania Provincial Assembly in the early 1760s; and
WHEREAS, Early settlers along the Blue Mountain experienced
incursions by Native Americans in the turbulent years leading up
to the township's incorporation; and
WHEREAS, Some early settlers had been recruited into
Revolutionary War militia units; and
WHEREAS, Early farmers produced bushels of rye, corn, oats,
buckwheat and potatoes and tons of hay; and
WHEREAS, Inhabitants of Dannersville, Klecknersville,
