A RESOLUTION
Designating April 8, 2015, as "Dog Fighting Awareness Day" in
Pennsylvania.
WHEREAS, Dog fighting is criminal conduct in this
Commonwealth; and
WHEREAS, Dog fighting is a form of animal cruelty that
persists across America; and
WHEREAS, More than 1 million dogs are licensed in this
Commonwealth; and
WHEREAS, Dogs are "man's best friend," and dog fighting
represents the ultimate betrayal of the relationship between
humans and dogs; and
WHEREAS, Increasing the public's awareness of the signs of
dog fighting to encourage the reporting of suspected cases of
dog fighting is an important priority; and
WHEREAS, The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty

to Animals has designated April 8, 2015, as "National Dog
Fighting Awareness Day"; therefore be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives designate April
8, 2015, as "Dog Fighting Awareness Day" in Pennsylvania.
