A RESOLUTION
Designating May 9, 2015, as "National Association of Letter
Carriers Food Drive Day" in Pennsylvania.
WHEREAS, The National Association of Letter Carriers Stamp
out Hunger! food drive is taking place on May 9, 2015; and
WHEREAS, This year will mark the 23rd anniversary for the
nation's largest single-day food drive; and
WHEREAS, Last year, local letter carriers delivered more than
330,000 pounds of food to Second Harvest and its member agencies
for distribution to families in need in Carbon, Lehigh, Monroe,
Northampton, Pike and Wayne Counties; and
WHEREAS, The donations provide a critical boost for the
summer months, which is a time when supplies are low and school
lunch programs are not available for area youth; therefore be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives designate May 9,
