A RESOLUTION
Honoring Michael Williams for his outstanding record and
achievements as head football coach at Manheim Central High
School.
WHEREAS, Mr. Williams has been head football coach at Manheim
Central High School for 34 years; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Williams guided Manheim Central to 330 wins and
11 perfect 10-0 regular seasons; and
WHEREAS, Under Mr. Williams, Manheim Central won 16 District
3 championships, including 10 in a row from 1992-2001, and 20
Lancaster-Lebanon League section championships; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Williams led his team to Pennsylvania
Interscholastic Athletic Association title games in 2003, 2004
and 2009; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Williams is the winningest coach in District 3
history; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Williams has been honored 10 times as Section 2

Coach of the Year, five times as District 3 Coach of the Year
and two times as PIAA Coach of the Year; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Williams was a 2000 inductee into the
Pennsylvania State Football Coaches Association Hall of Fame, a
2003 inductee into the Manheim Central Hall of Fame, a 2011
George Kirchner award winner and a 2013 inductee into the Lock
Haven University Football Hall of Fame; and
WHEREAS, On April 27, 2010, the Manheim Central High School
weight room was named the Michael S. Williams weight room in
honor of Mr. Williams; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Williams stepped down as head coach at the end
of the 2014 football season; therefore it be
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives honor Michael
Williams for his outstanding record and achievements as head
football coach at Manheim Central High School.
