A RESOLUTION
Recognizing the month of March 2015 as "National Athletic
Training Month" in Pennsylvania.
WHEREAS, Quality health care is vital for individuals who are
physically active; and
WHEREAS, Licensed athletic trainers have a long history of
providing quality health care for athletes and persons engaged
in physical activities; and
WHEREAS, Athletic training involves the prevention,
recognition, evaluation and aggressive treatment of injuries,
along with rehabilitation, health care administration,
education, research and guidance; and
WHEREAS, Athletic training was recognized by the American
Medical Association in 1990 as an allied health care profession;
and
WHEREAS, The National Athletic Trainers' Association

represents and supports the more than 30,000 members of the
athletic training profession employed in professional sports,
colleges and universities, high schools, clinics and hospitals,
corporate and industrial settings and the military; and
WHEREAS, Leading organizations have joined together to raise
public awareness of athletic training and to emphasize the
importance of quality health care for athletes and people who
are physically active, with the aim of improving health care and
promoting licensed athletic trainers as allied health
professionals; therefore be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives recognize the
month of March 2015 as "National Athletic Training Month" in
Pennsylvania.
