A RESOLUTION
Calling on the Congress of the United States to pass legislation
ending the practice of corporate inversion.
WHEREAS, Corporate inversion is the practice of nominally
relocating a corporation's headquarters to a country with more
favorable tax laws, typically while keeping the corporation's
major operations in its country of origin; and
WHEREAS, A number of American corporations have engaged in
the practice of corporate inversion recently; and
WHEREAS, Corporate inversion reduces the taxes a corporation
pays to the Federal Government as well as State and local
governments; and
WHEREAS, Taxes fund the maintenance of this country's
infrastructure, including roads, rails and utilities, and also
police and fire protection forces, court systems, economic and
research development grants and education and worker development
programs, all of which allow businesses to thrive; and
WHEREAS, Corporate inversion shirks corporations'
