AN ACT
Amending Title 75 (Vehicles) of the Pennsylvania Consolidated
Statutes, in fees, further providing for information
concerning drivers and vehicles.
The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
hereby enacts as follows:
Section 1. Section 1955(a) of Title 75 of the Pennsylvania
Consolidated Statutes is amended to read:
ยง 1955. Information concerning drivers and vehicles.
(a) Drivers, registrations, titles and security interests.--
(1) The fee for a copy of written or electronic
information relating to a driver, registration, title or
security interest shall be $8.
[(2) If a Commonwealth agency has entered into a
contract with a third party to deliver driver information to
a person that has complied with section 6114(b)(5) (relating
to limitation on sale, publication and disclosure of
records), the department may impose an additional fee of up

to $2 for the requested record.
(3) Upon approval from the department, a person that has
received the driver information from the third party under
paragraph (2) that has complied with section 6114(b)(5) may
provide the information, for a fee, to a third party for the
same purposes contained in section 6114(b)(5) without the
payment of any additional fees under this subsection to the
department.]
(4) [Except as provided in paragraph (3), a] A person
that sells, publishes or discloses or offers to sell, publish
or disclose the information received by the person under this
subsection commits a summary offense and shall, upon
conviction, be sentenced to pay a fine of not less than $500
nor more than $1,000.
(5) The department shall comply with the provisions of
section 6114(d) with respect to the information of a driver
under 18 years of age whose information is provided to any
person under this subsection.

Section 2. This act shall take effect April 1, 2015, or
immediately, whichever is later.
