AN ACT
Amending the act of March 10, 1949 (P.L.30, No.14), entitled "An
act relating to the public school system, including certain
provisions applicable as well to private and parochial
schools; amending, revising, consolidating and changing the
laws relating thereto," in collective bargaining, providing
for participation by school directors during negotiations.
The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
hereby enacts as follows:
Section 1. The act of March 10, 1949 (P.L.30, No.14), known
as the Public School Code of 1949, is amended by adding a
section to read:
Section 1102-A. Participation of School Directors.--(a) Any
time a school entity and a representative negotiate a collective
bargaining agreement, all members of the board of school
directors shall be permitted to attend the negotiation and at
least one member of the board of school directors must attend
the negotiation.
(b) All members of a board of school directors shall be
given at least 72 hours' advance notice of any negotiation of a
collective bargaining agreement between the school entity and a

representative.
Section 2. This act shall take effect in 60 days.
