AN ACT
Amending Title 74 (Transportation) of the Pennsylvania
Consolidated Statutes, in turnpike, providing for toll road
conversions.
The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
hereby enacts as follows:
Section 1. Title 74 of the Pennsylvania Consolidated
Statutes is amended by adding to a section to read:
ยง 8124. Toll road conversions.
Notwithstanding the provisions of Chapter 91 (relating to
public-private transportation partnerships), approval by the
General Assembly is required in order to authorize the
conversion of any existing public roadway, including a public
roadway under the jurisdiction of the commission, constructed
with Federal or Commonwealth funds, to a toll road, either in
whole or a portion, not including bridges and tunnels.
Section 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
