AN ACT
Amending Title 18 (Crimes and Offenses) of the Pennsylvania
Consolidated Statutes, in minors, further providing for the
offense of tattooing and body piercing.
The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
hereby enacts as follows:
Section 1. Section 6311 heading of Title 18 of the
Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes is amended and the section is
amended by adding a subsection to read:
ยง 6311. Tattooing [and], body piercing and human branding.

(b.1) Human branding.--The following apply:
(1) A person commits an offense if he engages in human
branding of a person under 18 years of age.
(2) For purposes of this subsection, the term "human
branding" shall mean creating a permanent mark on the human
body by burning the skin with a hot iron or other instrument.

Section 2. This act shall take effect in 60 days.
