AN ACT
Amending Title 61 (Prisons and Parole) of the Pennsylvania
Consolidated Statutes, in county correctional institutions,
further providing for board meetings.
The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
hereby enacts as follows:
Section 1. Section 1732 of Title 61 of the Pennsylvania
Consolidated Statutes is amended to read:
ยง 1732. Board meetings.
(a) Quorum.--A majority of the members of the board shall
constitute a quorum for the transaction of business, and all
actions of the board shall be by the approval of a majority of
all the members of the board.
(b) Frequency and nature of meetings.--
(1) [The] In a county of the eighth class, the board
shall meet no less frequently than semi-annually, or more if
required. In all other counties, the board shall meet
monthly, or more often [if required, and]. The board shall
keep regular minutes of [their] its proceedings in a book to
be filed with the financial records of the county. The board

shall make such rules and regulations for the government and
management of the county correctional institution and the
safekeeping, discipline and employment of the inmates, as may
be deemed necessary.
(2) [The] For all counties other than counties of the
eighth class, the meetings shall be held at the county
correctional institution no less often than quarterly.
Section 2. This act shall take effect in 60 days.
