AN ACT
Amending the act of June 26, 2014 (P.L.790, No.77), entitled "An
act designating the 700 to 800 block of U.S. Route 13, also
known as the Chester Pike, in Prospect Park Borough, Delaware
County, as the Officers Luke Arlington Conner and John Horace
Callaghan Memorial Highway," further providing for the
Officers Luke Arlington Conner and John Horace Callaghan
Memorial Highway.
The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
hereby enacts as follows:
Section 1. The title and section 1 of the act of June 26,
2014 (P.L.790, No.77), entitled "An act designating the 700 to
800 block of U.S. Route 13, also known as the Chester Pike, in
Prospect Park Borough, Delaware County, as the Officers Luke
Arlington Conner and John Horace Callaghan Memorial Highway," is
amended to read:
Designating the 700 to 800 block of U.S. Route 13, also known as
the Chester Pike, in Prospect Park Borough, Delaware County,
as the Officers Luke Arlington Conner and [John] J. Horace
Callaghan Memorial Highway.

(a) Findings.--
(1) Officer Luke Arlington Conner.
(i) Officer Conner was a resident of Prospect Park
and an officer of the Prospect Park Police Department for
two years.
(ii) On October 8, 1919, Officer Conner was on foot
patrol on U.S. Route 13, also known as the Chester Pike,
and was struck by a vehicle, dying six hours later in a
local hospital.
(iii) Officer Conner was survived by his wife and
five children.
(2) Officer [John] J. Horace Callaghan.
(i) Officer Callaghan was a resident of Prospect
Park and an officer of the Prospect Park Police
Department for 15 years.
(ii) On December 21, 1940, Officer Callaghan was
directing traffic on U.S. Route 13, also known as the
Chester Pike, near Stewart Avenue, when he was struck by
a drunk driver.
(iii) Officer Callaghan was survived by his wife and
three children.
(b) Designation.--The 700 to 800 block of U.S. Route 13,
also known as the Chester Pike, in Prospect Park Borough,
Delaware County, is designated as the Officers Luke Arlington
Conner and [John] J. Horace Callaghan Memorial Highway.
(c) Signs.--The Department of Transportation shall erect and
maintain appropriate signs displaying the name of the highway to
traffic in both directions on the highway.
