AN ACT
Amending the act of June 23, 1931 (P.L.932, No.317), entitled
"An act relating to cities of the third class; and amending,
revising, and consolidating the law relating thereto," in
taxation, further providing for tax levies.
The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
hereby enacts as follows:
Section 1. Section 2531(b) of the act of June 23, 1931
(P.L.932, No.317), known as The Third Class City Code, reenacted
and amended March 19, 2014 (P.L.52, No.22), is amended to read:
Section 2531. Tax Levies.--* * *
(b) Council may, by ordinance, levy and, in accordance with
this act, provide for the collection of a residence tax for
general revenue purposes, not exceeding five dollars annually,
on all inhabitants who are at least eighteen years of age [or
older] and under sixty-five years of age.
Section 2. This act shall take effect in 60 days.
