AN ACT
Amending the act of March 10, 1949 (P.L.30, No.14), entitled "An
act relating to the public school system, including certain
provisions applicable as well to private and parochial
schools; amending, revising, consolidating and changing the
laws relating thereto," providing for theology courses.
The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
hereby enacts as follows:
Section 1. The act of March 10, 1949 (P.L.30, No.14), known
as the Public School Code of 1949, is amended by adding a
section to read:
Section 1205.7. Theology Courses.--An individual who holds a
teaching certificate in social studies may include courses taken
in theology for the purposes of meeting the requirements of any
of the following provisions:
(1) Receiving or earning a college certificate or master's
degree under section 1144.
(2) Receiving a permanent college certificate under section
1205.
(3) Meeting continuing professional development under

section 1205.1.
Section 2. The provisions of 22 Pa. Code are abrogated
insofar as they are inconsistent with the addition of section
1205.7 of the act.
Section 3. This act shall take effect immediately.
