1Designating the week of November 11 through 15, 2013, as
2"Forensic Nurses Week" in Pennsylvania.

3WHEREAS, The health, welfare and safety of all Pennsylvanians
4are important to the well-being of our Commonwealth's families
5and communities; and

6WHEREAS, Forensic nurses across this Commonwealth recognize
7that violence is a health care problem affecting individuals and
8communities throughout Pennsylvania; and

9WHEREAS, Forensic nurses ensure victims of sexual assault,
10child abuse, elder abuse and other forms of violence receive
11specialized and compassionate care and complete collection of
12forensic evidence and preservation; and

13WHEREAS, The Keystone Chapter of the International
14Association of Forensic Nurses is dedicated to providing nursing
15care to victims of violence across the lifespan; and

16WHEREAS, Forensic Nurses are highly educated professionals

1who continue to meet the complex forensic and health care needs
2of individuals, families and communities; and

3WHEREAS, The International Association of Forensic Nurses,
4along with the Keystone Chapter of the International Association
5of Forensic Nurses has declared the week of November 11 through
615, 2013, as "Keystone Forensic Nurses Week"; therefore be it

7RESOLVED, That the Senate designate the week of November 11
8through 15, 2013, as "Forensic Nurses Week" in Pennsylvania.
