A RESOLUTION

 

1Recognizing the 75th anniversary of The Builders Association of
2Metropolitan Pittsburgh.

3WHEREAS, The Builders Association of Metropolitan Pittsburgh
4(BAMP) is one of the oldest builders associations in the
5country; and

6WHEREAS, BAMP represents over 500 small businesses that
7strive to improve housing affordability, availability and
8choice; and

9WHEREAS, BAMP is recognized nationally for its advocacy of
10safe and affordable housing as well as its educational and
11consumer awareness efforts in promotion of its professional
12members; and

13WHEREAS, BAMP was a founding member of a group of local
14associations that established the National Association of Home
15Builders (NAHB) in 1942 and the Pennsylvania Builders
16Association (PBA) in 1952; and

17WHEREAS, BAMP established the Apartment Association of

1Metropolitan Pittsburgh (AAMP) in 1971; and

2WHEREAS, BAMP members, past and present, have a long history
3of service to the industry and its association at the national,
4State and local levels; and

5WHEREAS, BAMP members adhere to a high code of ethics and
6produce quality products for their customers in the
7neighborhoods where they work and live; and

8WHEREAS, BAMP has organized countless community service
9projects throughout its 75 years of existence, lending its
10members' expertise to construct or repair community assets as
11well as helping to improve homes for neighbors in need of
12assistance; therefore be it

13RESOLVED, That the Senate recognize and honor The Builders
14Association of Metropolitan Pittsburgh for its past and
15continuing contributions to the home building and related
16industries of southwestern Pennsylvania.
