AN ACT

 

1Amending the act of April 12, 1951 (P.L.90, No.21), entitled, as
2reenacted, "An act relating to alcoholic liquors, alcohol and
3malt and brewed beverages; amending, revising, consolidating
4and changing the laws relating thereto; regulating and
5restricting the manufacture, purchase, sale, possession,
6consumption, importation, transportation, furnishing, holding
7in bond, holding in storage, traffic in and use of alcoholic
8liquors, alcohol and malt and brewed beverages and the
9persons engaged or employed therein; defining the powers and
10duties of the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board; providing
11for the establishment and operation of State liquor stores,
12for the payment of certain license fees to the respective
13municipalities and townships, for the abatement of certain
14nuisances and, in certain cases, for search and seizure
15without warrant; prescribing penalties and forfeitures;
16providing for local option, and repealing existing laws,"
17further providing for special occasion permits.

18The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
19hereby enacts as follows:

20Section 1. Section 408.4(i) of the act of April 12, 1951
21(P.L.90, No.21), known as the Liquor Code, reenacted and amended
22June 29, 1987 (P.L.32, No.14) and amended June 5, 2007 (P.L.11,
23No.5), is amended to read:

24Section 408.4. Special Occasion Permits.--

1(i) Only one special occasion permit shall be issued to each
2eligible entity per calendar year. Each permit may only be used
3for six consecutive or nonconsecutive days; however, if the
4eligible entity is a museum operated by a nonprofit corporation
5in a city of the third class or township of the first class, a
6nonprofit corporation engaged in the performing arts in a city
7of the third class or in an incorporated town, a bona fide
8sportsmen's club in existence for at least ten years conducting
9a national golf championship [or], an arts council, volunteer 
10fire company, volunteer ambulance company or volunteer rescue 
11company, then the special occasion permit may be used for six
12nonconsecutive or ten consecutive days.

14Section 2. This act shall take effect in 60 days.
