1Amending Title 35 (Health and Safety) of the Pennsylvania
2Consolidated Statutes, in the State Fire Commissioner,
3providing for light-frame truss-type construction signage and
4prescribing a penalty.

5The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
6hereby enacts as follows:

7Section 1. Title 35 of the Pennsylvania Consolidated
8Statutes is amended by adding a section to read:

9§ 7388. Light-frame truss-type construction signage.

10(a) Warning signs required.--An owner of any commercial or
11industrial structure, or any multiunit residential structure of
12three units or more, that uses light-frame truss-type
13construction shall mark the structure with a sign or symbol
14approved by the commissioner in a manner sufficient to warn
15persons conducting fire control or other emergency operations of
16the existence of light-frame truss-type construction in the
17structure.

18(b) Regulations.--The commissioner shall promulgate

1regulations to implement the provisions of this section,
2including, but not limited to:

3(1) The dimensions and color of such sign or symbol.

4(2) The time within which owners of such structures must
5comply with the provisions of this section.

6(3) The location of the sign or symbol on such
7structures.

8(c) Penalties.--The commissioner shall enforce the
9provisions of this section. An owner who fails to comply with
10the requirements of this section commits a summary offense.

11Section 2. This act shall take effect in 60 days.
